The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) on July 29, 2026, issued an amendment to a notification of the Government of India, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (Department of Consumer Affairs), published in Part III, Section 4 of the Gazette of India, in pursuance of sub-rule (1) of Rule 15 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018. The amendment revises two prior notifications by extending specified compliance dates listed in column (5) of their respective schedules.
Under the first amendment, the notification bearing Reference HQ-PUB012/4/2020-PUB-BIS (510), dated February 1, 2023 (published February 9, 2023), has its Serial No. 01 entry revised to substitute "30 April 2027" in place of the earlier date of "31 January 2024." Under the second amendment, the notification bearing Reference HQ-PUB013/1/2020-PUB-BIS (1373), dated November 24, 2025 (published December 3, 2025), has its Serial No. 02 and 04 entries revised to substitute "20 May 2027" in place of the earlier date of "20 May 2026."
